Early Childhood Programs

Lessening the impact of developmental risk, delay or disability, Alta Mira’s early childhood programs provide an array of family-centered services to infants and very young children and their families with developmental risks, delays, or disabilities in Bernalillo, Torrance and southern Santa Fe counties. These programs are based on the assumption that enriching experiences provided at an early age can help lessen the impact of developmental challenges on children and their families.

Alta Mira remains steadfast in its philosophy that children are best supported within the family and that families are best supported within the community. The guidance and participation of the family are paramount in the delivery of culturally competent and context sensitive services. In 2007-2008, 817 children and their families received early childhood services in the form of early intervention services, service coordination, and through Alta Mira’s unique early childhood education inclusion program, Project Jericho.
