Alta Mira is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that was incorporated in 1985 following the consolidation of two predecessor agencies, Albuquerque Special Preschool and Esperanza Para Nuestros Ninos. 

Both of these agencies were founded in 1968 by parents of children with developmental risks, delays and disabilities, to develop quality services within the community.

Since 1985 Alta Mira has continued the work of these organizations and has served more than 5,000 families.  Approximately 43% of our families are Hispanic, 40% are Anglo, and the balance are Native American, African American or Asian/Pacific Islander.  More than 90% of Alta Mira families live in in Bernalillo County. 

Alta Mira provides both Early Childhood Services (more) and Family Support Services (more).
